Need a break...

You know, there comes a time when you realize that you need a break. Don't get me wrong, I have a fabulous job which I really enjoy. I love my residents, I have a fabulous and very understanding boss (which is a great blessing) and thouroughly love my partner in crime. But, I must admit, I need a break and feeling worn out. I have someone I adore dying and it's been really hard. I had a bit of a melt down last week when talking with her daughter and the rest of the day was shot. I was more composed today when I actually got to see her. I knew that this was part of the plan but it's still hard. Though, the partner in crime has given me permission to run away to California with my dad for a few days. I think I'll take him up on the offer though I hate the thought of leaving him here and not bringing him, too. I just like going places with him and would want him to come but that can't always happen. Though, I will admit, the idea of a crazy road trip with my dad sounds great! We were notorious for our crazy trips!
Anyhow, the partner in crime as two more semesters of school. WAHOO!! There is actually a light at the end of tunnel. We are relieved that the end is in sight and looking forward to the excitement that lies ahead. Who knows where we'll end up but it'll be interesting to see where.
So, that's it for now. I hadn't realized it had been so long since I had posted something. Just needed to vent today.

HA! Twice in one month! What now?!

So, I've turned over a new leaf and have now posted twice within a month. It's pretty amazing, I know. I sometimes even amaze myself. Tee hee!
Things are good, just for the record. My herbal treatments for anxiety and depression, etc are going very well and even the partner in crime can tell I'm doing better. It's refreshing to be doing better. Though, I thought I was ok before but not as well as now which is great!!
Work is great. My fearless leader (A.K.A. my boss) is on vacation currently and is returning to work on Wednesday. I find I miss having her around and am looking forward to her triumphant return!
I have stitches. Six of them in my left shoulder. My made up story is that I was trying to help a resident who was falling down and their walker came and hit me in the shoulder with a bolt that holds the wheels on. The true story is that I had a cyst/nodule thing removed. Nothing quite as exciting as getting hit by a walker and that's ok. It doesn't help that it's on my left shoulder and I'm left handed which had been difficult not to use as much. I seem to continue to over do it and aggravate it on a daily basis which isn't helping the getting better process. ARG. I really am trying to tone it down. Stitches come out on the 23rd.

The Roller Coaster of Life

As usual, my cohort and I have neglected to post on here in sometime and I've decided to fix that!!
Life as usual has thrown us our share of ups and downs. We're holding on and hoping we can navigate through successfully. Between school, job changes, traveling and life in general, we hold on to dear life and hang in there.
Attempting to get my health back in check as I've been battling anxiety and depression problems for a few years and hormonal problems, too. Started visiting a guy praticing Chinese herbal medicine/accupuncture. I went to him a few years ago and after talking with my 2nd mom, she suggested I go see him again. A few hiccups along the way and a melt down yesterday, I am hopeful and look forward to getting better and feeling better!! I am having more "happy" days and better moods which is nice after a while of not doing so well. I went to him a few years ago and did very well so I know things will improve!!
Scorch has one year left of school! WAHOO! Just getting through finals this week and we're glad we aren't having to deal with the drama's from last year this week. Miscarriages, ER visits and finals just aren't a good combination!! So, we are looking at the future and where we want to end up when he's done. Seattle is looking like where we want to head at this point but we'll see where the jobs take us!

A little neglectant to say the least

I keep mentioning to my partner in crime and better half that we haven't posted in AGES and though since I'm confined to home presently fighting the stomach bug I'd remedy the situation.

I find my self at yet another crossroads in my life as I deal with an on going fight that's plagued me for probablly the majority of my life. Though I'm aware of it's effects on me, I'm yet again reminded of how it effects other aspects of my life because I have yet to fully master it. Though only diagnosed with A.D.D. five or six years ago, I can see how it's been with me my whole life and has had it positive attributes and its share of negatives which I'm dealing with curently. My brain processes things different and sometimes a bit slower which presents problems in multiple aspects of my life. I just hope that I can get focused (ha, what irony) again.

So, again I find myself realizing that I haven't posted in a while and thought I better. The new job is treating me alright and I'm learning a lot. You know, when I worked for this company a while back, it was completely different. A lot has changed technology wise and I'm finding that it's different than I expected it to be coming back. Hasn't been what I thought it would be but at the same time, some of it is still the same which is nice that there's something I still know. Very grateful for a job at least!

Other than that, just trying to hang in there with life. I don't think I'm any different than anyone else in that aspect.

Not much to say but wanted to post something. I'm glad that things seem to have settled down and turned out ok. I don't always seem to handle some of life's craziness as well as I should sometimes but am glad that we're on the other side. Enjoying the job and the people seem nice, too. Looking forward to good things happening this year. Last year got a little rough!

We recently paid off the car and I just went to the DMV to get the title in our names! Wahoo! I've never out right owned a car before (I've only had three up to this point) but I'm pretty excited!

Like I said, not much to say. Nothing exciting! Oh, my partner in crime is addicted to the t.v. show "Big Bang Theory" and we borrowed season 1 from the parents and the only reason they got it back (after he watched it at least 5 times) was because the sister let us borrow season 2. She may not get that back for a while!! Or, atleast until we get the season's for our collection! It's pretty funny! I enjoy how much he likes the show.

Life...one big adventure

I am always amazed how life has its twists and turns and yet you still manage to end up alright. A little bit bruised here and there but, collectively ok. There's something to be said about attitude which up until recently, I haven't put much stock in. I guess I've been in my opinion, surly for a little too long that I've lost sight of how much a positive attitude helps.

I'm reminded of these series of book/tape things we had growing up called "Power Tunes". They were stories about various famous people who did great things despite all odds. I distinctly remember a part of a chorus that went, "Attitude, attitude, makes you do the things you do. Attitude, attitude, it makes you what you are. You gotta wanna be kind, you gotta wanna share, you gotta be a friend, you gotta want to care. It's your attitude that makes you."

So, through those twists and turns of life, I'm reminded of how no matter what happens, things always seem to turn out ok. That I have a wonderful husband that supports me regardless of the bumps along the road. A husband who's understanding and just wants to see me happy. That I have wonderful parents who are also understanding and along with my husband, are my biggest supporters and my own personal cheerleaders.

I was whining a few weeks back to a very good and long time friend who has seen me through some tough times quite a few years ago. Yet again, she reminded me that good things still can come out of tough situations. She's always looking at the positive. Thanks, Lis! Thanks for reminding me for the millionth time to look at the positive! :)

So, with all that said, here's to the positive. Here's to the train of though that, "Life is 10% of what happens and 90% of how I react to it." Here's to attitude!

The heat is out at work today (it shut off yesterday), so it is freezing. On top of that, I work in the basement, so it is even colder than the rest of the store. Its actually a relief when I have to run an errand because it gives me a chance to warm up.

In other news, I'm meeting with Grimm on Sunday, and we might be able to get the first comic strip up (fingers crossed). Here is hoping that everything works like I want it to.

Brides and craziness

A rough week in the land of selling to brides. I'm tired of these girls that come in and are with me for an hour and a half, find "the dress", and then when we come down to cost they have no money and no one to help them with it. WHY THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT DRESSES WITHOUT MONEY! Dahhhh! Anyhow, had something similar today where the girl found the dress (on sale for $575) and while I was getting the payment plan finalized, found two other dresses she liked better but had to leave. Luckily, she came back and tried one of the other dresses on, LOVED it and ended up spending $1560 for this dress and with accessories the total came to like $1950. So, much better sale.
Then, had a girl in on Monday and the first dress she tried on she loved and I think got scared off by the fact it was the first dress and thought she had to go 20 other places before deciding. She comes back in tonight and the same dress is still "the dress" and says she has been compairing all the other dresses at the other places to this dress. It's still the dress and loves it and even says out loud that this was the one. Mom is there and is like trying to talk her out of it, "Are you sure this is the one? Do you still want to look?" I'm sitting there thinking, Lady, what are you doing? The daughter says yes but when I pressed them to get things rolling, of course mom suddenly has to go. It wasn't like the dress was an unreasonable price (under $300). Not sure what the mom's hesitation is but they have an appointment scheduled for Saturday. Hopefully we can close the sale once and for all!

Every once in a while, I have been recording random thoughts on my computer as kind of a video journal. About halfway through this one, I thought, 'Hey! I could put this up on the blog!' So here it is on the blog. Some of it is old information, but some is new. I might even start to do this on a more regular basis. I guess we'll find out whether I do or not. Anyhow, enough of my random babbling because you'll get enough of that from the video. I hope it doesn't take as long to download for you as it took to upload.

New Year and new adventures, always!

With the start of a new year, it's hard not to reflect on the previous year and look forward to a better year than the last. So many things went on in 2009 especially the last 4 months, I can only hope that things go a bit better this year. So much has happened, it seems like January 2009 was a lifetime away. Life is always the biggest adventure.
I find myself grateful for a wonderful husband who understands me most of the time even when I don't always understand myself. Who is kind, patient and just as crazy as I am (which is helpful because I'm a bit off my rocker at times!) Always good to have a partner in crime I can cozy up to at night as well! We've grown a lot not only individually but as a couple as well which I think has brought us closer together. I love him so much and am lucky to be able to come home to him every day.
As for resolutions, I tend to be bad at keeping them but with my crime fighting partner at my side, I'm hopeful he'll keep me on track.
1. Start exercising more (i.e. loose some weight). I seem to be interested in picking up running. We'll see how my minor asthma holds up.
2. Keep in touch with friends better. I've been a huge slacker in this area and am desireous to do better.
3. Actually use my esthetics license even if it's out of our 2nd room. I enjoy doing the things I can do with my license and would like to get people coming in.

So there it is for all the world to see. So let it be said, so let it be done! :) I guess I need to actually be accountable for what I have said I'll do! Here's to holding me to it!

New toys, jobs, and colds....

Scorch was kind enough to let me play with his new toy and I made this. Nothing too spectacular but fun just the same!

Have started the new job and am really liking it despite all the things I need to learn! It's a lot of work and wedding dresses are heavy to carry but I'm enjoying it so far which is saying something for me! Give me a few months and I'll be rockin' it pretty hard! Not too often I'm excited about a new job after it gets going! It'll be even better after I get things down.

Still fighting the cold from hell! Had a cold a few weeks back and it was nothing too major and it went away of course. Then, not four days later I got ANOTHER cold! This one much worse and I've been far more miserable! They sent me home early from work my first two days because I looked as lousy and I felt. Fully missed the third day which stinks since that's where I wanted to be. I showed up to work sick! Wow, I like my job! All tolled, I've been sick better part of a month with the pre cursor to the first cold. On the bright side, I no longer have to work with germ infested carrier monkeys that get sent to school sick and would as soon pick their nose and hold my hand! Hopefully, I'll be sick a lot less now! Novel concept!

Oops. I haven't blogged for a bit. The semester is over, and I'm still waiting for a couple of grades to post. I've received pretty good grades so far.

Merry Christmas a couple of days late. Spring Fever and I did our holiday shopping together, so we knew pretty much everything that we got for each other before Christmas. Although she was able to sneak out of the house and get a watch battery for me without me realizing that she was gone. She's very sneaky.

Another comic update: We ordered a pen and tablet set for the computer, so we'll be able to draw the strips directly onto the computer. I'm picking it up from the store today. I've told Grim about it, and he may be getting one as well. So if everything goes well, we should be able to get the comics started and on the blog soon!

New adventures and yearly pains

So, my fight at the Perfect School for Perfect Students has come to an end. Decided being hit consistantly, changing other people's kids poopy diapers can wait until I have kids of my own, and needing to have padding on to protect myself from temper tantrums needed to come to an end and I chose to join the world of Bridal Consultants. I work at a local store helping brided with dresses and am very excited. It's a lot of work and still a lot I need to learn but I am truly excited and haven't been about a job in some while. That's saying something since I've had a lot of jobs! Even with a nasty cold that continues to get worse (a yearly pain that I don't seem to ever enjoy) I am enjoying the job. My partner in crime has been lauging at me because I voluntairly went out and bought 4 different bridal magazines to look at before I began.

We had our 2 year fighting crime anniversary last week and enjoyed a crime free weekend in St. George, UT. It was nice and relaxing and even played a few rounds of mini putt at a local place. I always enjoy an crime free weekend with my love.

Other than that, hoping I feel better by Christmas and in time for the craziness this Saturday at work.

A light, a tunnel and it's not a train!

So, by the good fortune of luck or whatever, I have had a good two days in a row! The hitting one has been out of town the last two days, didn't have to work with the tantrum king yesterday and he was a sweet angel for me today! What luck! Though, last week, I found that guilt, yes guilt, seems to work with the tantrum king! I'll keep that in my arsenal of tricks for my last two days of work!
Today is the two year anniversary of our super hero union! I can't believe it's been two years! We've had a lot of ups and a lot of battles but we're still going strong and love him even more if possible!

Looking forward to a super hero retreat over the weekend. A celebration of our time together, surviving the semester and our last weekend of freedom together.

Today, I had much luck with the houligans I fight daily. Not only did the buses get to school well over an hour late, 2 were sick, the Tantrum King and I didn't have to go the rounds and by some stroke of luck, the speech therapist lady took the Hitting One to work with him when I was scheduled to and I didn't have to work with him at all either. FULLY AWESOME! Though feeling better, still worn out by my current battle with the cold.
My parents have fled the state and are enjoying the warmer weather of the Aloha Island. They suck as it was 75 ish today as we were dealing with the weather here. The best I might get next week is Vegas though I'd love to talk my partner in crime into going to California. Long shot! Not enough time as I'd have to be back by the 20th early to pick up the parentials from the airport. We'll see.

The illness fight

Currently fighting with the awful villian, Mr. Cold. He entered the scene on Friday night and we've been fighting since. Though, my good friend Herbal Tea and Kombucha are my heroes and are helping me win this battle yet again. Here's to not taking traditional cold medicine.

A new adventure begins shortly as I will no longer be battling the kids and onto battling "Bridezilla" as a wedding consultant. I look forward to this new opportunity and am excited!

Comic Update

I met with Grim a few days ago to discuss work on the comic. We found some art software that we will use to illustrate the comics. The catch is, it is going to take some time to get character templates drawn. As soon as the templates are created, we should be able to crank out strips pretty quickly. In the mean time, I'm going to keep writing down the story, and as soon as we can, we'll start drawing.

We were also able to choose a team leader for our heroes and our villains. Our heroic leader is Captain Obvious (the obvious choice to be the captain). Our villains' leader is Captain Black Jack, who instills fear wherever she goes. She is followed by her sidekick, Mashed Potato Johnson. Keep checking back for more story updates.

Better and improving

My fight for a decent day at work continues. In comparison to yesterday, today went very well condidering. I worked with the "Tantrum King" and the "Hitting One" yesterday and encrued the wrath of both. Boo. Though today, "hitting one" was off fighting other crime and the "tantrum king" wasn't too bad and we survived our working time together; whew.

My brother in law commented on being a punching bag at work the other day and I realized how tired I am of that. Have some new possibilities on the horizion in an area that I've been wanting to fight crime in for a while. If all goes well, I'm hoping to be able to be in a place I'm interested in and not somewhere I have to be for "needing a job" sake.

My toliet and I went the rounds as some hose decided to spew water all over but is now happy and fixed thanks to the Plumber Queen who was nice enough to come make thing better!

Insomnia

The good fight continues for peace in the land. My work duties have been light as the "Tantrum King" was off else where this week and we haven't had to go into battle the last week and a half. Awe, good times! The "Hitting One" and I are doing better on our quest for me not getting hit. The Wheat Weasel and I are aparently no longer fighting as I was informed that he's never been my nemesis though I disagree. No Cealic's here though I'm going to try the no gluten thing anyhow and see how it works. I had far too many of the symptoms; it's like it explained the last 15 years of my life. Anyhow, going to give it a go.

New possibilities ahead have me hopeful to be fighting crime in an area where I actually have school experience to back it up. That would be a first! Here's to change and hope and chope! I love that I crack myself up! Odd, I know!

Today with the perfect class, it was a decent day! The "hitting one" and I only had one scuffle and I didn't have to work with the "tantrum king" which was heaven! Fingers crossed for tomorrow! I came in with a positive attitude and it worked! I need to do that more often.

Battle of the illness

It's been the battle of the illness as of late. There has been a large battle between my stomach and I for some time and it's not getting any better. ARG! Starting to wonder if it might be the villan Wheat Weasel that is causing some of my issues. The super hero Dr. Health thinks she needs to stick an expensive scope down my throat. Again, arg! At least it isn't blood they want, I don't have much lately (ha ha) after my fight in the (E)lephant (R)umble back in August! :)
Hoping this week will be less of a fight with the "hitting one" and "tantrum king" in my perfect class. Still don't get paid enough to deal with bruises and eye wounds or full on tantrums at work. Know of any less dangerous day jobs?! :) Here's to a positive attitude this week! My wonderful side kick is my example of a positive attitude and my desire to change my ways of grumpiness.

The virus

Apparently, not all anti-virus software is equal. I've been running one anti-virus program on my computer, and a virus slipped by. I didn't even realize it, but my school's network detected it, and booted me off the system.

The worst part about it was that I wasn't informed why I could no longer access the internet at school (or at our apartment for that matter), and not even the help desk knew. I had to talk to 7 different people over the past 2 days before someone could finally tell me to download some new anti-virus software.

If only anti-virus software were more like a superhero....

Unruliness

On the night of All Hallows Eve, our crime fighting ways took a back seat to a gathering of like minded individuals who go up against crime! Our gathering was spectacular as our fellow crime fighters came together and partied into the early a.m. Fun was had by all and we didn't have to pass out candy! In attendance we had: Quick Fingers, Couch Potato, Mr. Freezer Man, Queen Bee, Captain Obvious, Grimm, Spring Fever, Scorch, Hooded Warbler and the Narcoleptic Nurse. It was fabulous to have such a crowd and we look forward to our annual meeting next year!

The Reward for crime fighting ways!

Today, my battle has entailed fighting the little gremlins in the class I work in. Who ever thought taking kids to the bathroom could be such a dramatic event! Oi! But, to reward my self for battling the gremlins and enduring a multitude of boxes and duct tape over the last week, I took myself to get a relaxing facial and ran into three friends I went to esthetics school with. What a nice surprise!

The internet

We finally got the internet hooked up at our apartment, so hopefully, Spring Fever will have more of a chance to post her part of our story on the blog. I'm starting to miss fighting crime. We just haven't had time with all the moving. Hopefully the rest of the move and the unpacking will go quickly and smoothly, so we can go back to battling supervillians.

Moving this week

Spring Fever and I didn't fight any crime over the weekend. We were busy packing for our upcoming move. We are hoping to get the keys to our new apartment today, but chances are, we won't be moving until tomorrow. Here's to hope, though!

We are hoping that our super-friends will be able to deal with any crime that happens this week. We won't be able to do anything because our uniforms are packed along with the rest of our belonings. Quick Fingers and the Couch Potato will be moving soon, so they will cover for us while we move, and we'll cover for them while they move. Don't worry, the streets will still be safe.

Moving

Life is getting hectic. Spring Fever and I are preparing to move. About half the apartment is in boxes, and the rest will be soon. We are hoping to move in this weekend, but our official move in date is the 6^th, which is funny because my wife has work off from the 1^st to the 5^th. Maintenance is supposed to be done preparing our apartment on the 2^nd, but the RA has to check it off before move in.

I've still got school work on top of all of this, and it has been Exam season for all my classes. I swear that professors meet together and plot when they will hammer their students with homework. Maybe they are conspiring with super villains to make sure crime fighters who are also students do not have time to fight crime. I must review crime trends to check for any correlation. Well, back to class for me.

Normality

Yesterday was a good day. Sure, I had three classes and work, but I didn't have to fight any battles. After work, I met up with my wife and we drove home together.

We spent the evening studying for my exam today and watching some TV. It feels good to have a normal day.

Spring Fever hasn't had as relaxing a week as me. She has been battling the super-villain Cold Virus. I think she'll be able to conquer him by the end of this weekend.

I've got an exam to do today, and I'm hoping that no evil super-villains cause any mischief. Here's to hope….

I work part time and go to school full time. My school is the University of Trees and Hills (UTH), and I work at the university's bookstore in the accounting department. My wife works a couple of blocks away at the Prefect School for Perfect Students (PSPS). We live in the town of Marie, but will be moving to the village on the west side of the Land-Locked Ocean in a couple of weeks.

It has been difficult living regular lives by day and fighting crime by night, so we are telling about our challenges in this blog in hopes that it will make our struggle easier.

Our latest battles have been with Grouchy and the Stomp Monsters. Grouchy claims that the Stomp Monsters are little angels, but she doesn't realize that the Monster's 'light walking' have a tendency to shake the house and make light fixtures fall from the ceiling. We have tried to arrive at a peaceful solution between us, but unfortunately, it hasn't worked. The only workable solution that we have thought of is to take our light fixtures to the Land-Locked Ocean and settle there. Not to mention work and school are closer to there than to here.
